TODAY'S CARD
EIGHT OF WANDS
VIII
|
|
|
the eight of wands is the card of things in motion, and it turns up on a friday, when the week is ending and whatever you have been waiting on still has not landed.
waiting without a guarantee is one of the hardest things a mind can do. the test result, the reply, the decision someone else is making. you check the phone, you check it again, and at three in the morning the waiting is louder than it ever is at noon.
this card carries a reminder that things move even when you cannot see them moving. replies are being written and decisions are being made somewhere just out of view. quiet on your side does not always mean nothing is happening.
there is a difference between stillness and stalling. stillness is waiting with your hands open. you are allowed to put the waiting down for a night, and pick it back up in the morning if you need to.
|
|
what is worth leaning into today: a small evening ritual that tells your mind the checking is done for today. the phone in another room and the light off at the same time each night.
what is worth staying away from: lying awake rehearsing every possible answer. at three in the morning the mind tends to pick the worst one and call it likely.
my advice for today: before bed, write down what you are waiting for and one thing you will do whatever the answer is. then close the notebook and let it hold the worry until morning.

what are you waiting to hear about. you can tell me as much or as little as you like.

3:21 AM. Still Awake? This Might Surprise You.
It's 3:21 in the morning.
You're staring at the ceiling, wondering how everyone else manages to fall asleep so easily.
Researchers at Louisiana State University discovered something surprising about a common red fruit.
The fruit? Tart cherries.
Scientists believe their natural melatonin and other compounds may help support better sleep.
No complicated steps. No expensive gadgets. Just something you might already have at home.

which line did your voice catch on. that is often the one worth saying again at three in the morning.
