TODAY'S CARD

SIX OF PENTACLES

VI

the six of pentacles is the card of giving and receiving, and it arrives on a sunday in november, when holiday spending is starting to loom and the week ahead is already in your head.

money between people is rarely only money. a loan to a grown child, the bill you always pick up, the help you refuse from a sister. each one carries a story about who gives and who needs, and most of us are far more comfortable on one side of it.

this card is interested in balance over time, not in any single transaction. it asks you to look at the whole pattern, and to notice whether you have quietly made yourself the one who is never allowed to receive.

it can also help to remember what you have already come through. most women reading this have had at least one lean year and managed it. that memory is easy to lose when you are worrying, and it is one of the most useful things you own.

what is worth leaning into today: remembering one hard money stretch you got through, and what got you through it.

what is worth staying away from: deciding your worth by which side of the giving you happen to be on this month.

my advice for today: if someone offers help this week, try saying thank you and nothing else, with no explanation and no promise to pay it back.

what is the hardest kind of help for you to accept. i am curious, and it is more common than you think.

Boost Your Memory By 75% Just By Stopping This Kitchen Mistake

If you find yourself dealing with embarrassing memory lapses…

The kind that makes you forget simple things like where you left your keys…

And even more important things like names, faces and dates…

Top memory researchers from the University of New Mexico recommend you immediately stop doing THIS one everyday kitchen habit.

This one small change can strengthen your memory, sharpen your focus…

And help you feel like yourself again — starting today.

Over 47,000 people have already made this simple change.

Just like Helen K. from Denver: "I thought memory loss was just aging. Turns out I was wrong — and so was my doctor."

If you want to boost your memory and feel sharp again, you need to see this now:

option one. the money you keep lending

a grown child or a sibling. the loans are never large enough to fight about and never quite repaid.

lending to family often has more to do with love and worry than with money, which is why it is so hard to discuss. it may help to decide privately what you can give without strain, and to call it a gift inside that limit. gifts carry less resentment than loans that never come back, on both sides.

option two. the help you turned down

someone offered, and you said no before they had finished the sentence. it felt like the right thing. it also left you carrying everything alone.

turning help down can be a habit learned in a time when accepting it came with strings. it is worth asking whether those strings still exist. many people offer help because it makes them feel useful and close, so letting them in can be a gift to them too. next time, consider saying yes to a small part of what was offered.

option three. the worry about later

you do the sums in your head at night. will there be enough when you are eighty, and who will look after you if there is not.

this worry is common, and it deserves a calm daytime look. the numbers in your head are usually vaguer and darker than the real ones. one conversation with someone qualified, or one evening with your actual figures, often shrinks the fear to a size you can plan around. and you have planned around hard things before.
