TODAY'S CARD
TWO OF CUPS
II
|
|
|
the two of cups is the card of an exchange that goes both ways, and it comes up on a wednesday, in the dip of the week, when a short conversation with the right person can change the whole afternoon.
a lot of women are very good at the first half of connection. remembering birthdays, asking how the hip is, following up on the job interview. people feel looked after around them.
the second half is harder. being asked something back and actually answering it. not the tidy version, oh fine, the usual, but the real one. it can feel like taking up space you did not book.
this card leans toward that second half. being seen needs a small amount of letting yourself be looked at, and that usually starts with one honest sentence about your own week.

what is worth leaning into today: answering the next how are you with something true and specific.
what is worth staying away from: steering every conversation back to the other person the moment it lands on you. it is generous, and it also keeps people at a slight distance.
my advice for today: think of one person who would be glad to know how you really are, and tell them one real thing today, however small. most people are relieved to be trusted with it.

when someone asks how you are, what is the honest answer you usually skip. you can send it to me first.

The Founding Fathers Had A Soundtrack
George Washington heard it.
Benjamin Franklin heard it.
For over 300 years, this was locked inside private ceremonies performed by some of the most powerful men in history.
No outsider had ever witnessed it.
Until one man… a member for twenty years… broke his oath of silence and captured it.
This isn’t a modern creation.
Nobody "designed" this in a lab.
It comes from a living tradition that predates the founding of America.
Passed down through generations behind closed doors.
The man who recorded it says he felt the effects in his bones the first time he heard it. Goosebumps.
A sense that something ancient had just woken up inside him.
He’s now sharing it publicly for the first time.
The men who guard this tradition are not pleased.
But he believes it’s too powerful to keep hidden while good people are struggling.
P.S. He’s an accountant, not a guru. That’s part of why I trust him.

/ affirmations
read these out loud, five times, in front of a mirror, right now
|
|
/ i am allowed to be the one who gets asked about
/ my news is worth telling, even when it is small
/ i can receive care without paying it back straight away
/ the people who love me want to know me, not only my help
/ i do not have to earn my place in a conversation
/ letting someone in is a kind of generosity too
/ i deserve friendships that go both ways

which line felt least true when you said it. that one might be worth a second go.
