TODAY'S CARD

TWO OF PENTACLES

II

the two of pentacles is the card of keeping several things in the air at once, and it lands on a thursday in the middle of october, when the heating has come back on and the end of the year is already asking for money.

there is a particular kind of tiredness that comes from juggling, and it rarely looks dramatic. which payment goes first, what can wait until the fifteenth, how much is safe to leave in the account.

from the outside it can look like managing perfectly well, and often it is. the juggling still takes attention, though, and attention is a cost of its own. women who have done this for years often stop noticing how much of their mind it occupies.

nothing in this card says anything is about to drop. the juggling is real work, and some of it can be put down for good with one or two simple decisions.

what is worth leaning into today: making one regular thing automatic, so it no longer needs your attention every month.

what is worth staying away from: comparing your juggling to what other people seem to manage. you only ever see their calm, and never their spreadsheet.

my advice for today: write down every regular payment on one sheet of paper, with the date it goes out. seeing them all in one place usually takes some of the weight off straight away.

what is the one money thing taking up the most space in your head this month. one line is plenty.

LOA Gurus Have Nothing On This

There’s a woman who infiltrated an Ancient Egyptian Secret Society…

Sounds crazy, right?

I was just on the phone with her before sitting down to this email.

She was still shaken up from the experience.

But here’s the really crazy thing…

Ever since, she started making money everywhere she turned.

She says she’s never seen anything like this…

Even the Law of Attraction has nothing on it.

And it all comes from her catching this frequency on her cellphone when she infiltrated this trillionaire cult…

I was a little shaken myself the first time I listened to it.

Because within minutes…

I’d never felt better.

I come across new opportunities all the time.

And every day, they just fall into my lap.

You need to hear this to believe it.

Oh, and by the way…

If you want to build a following on social media (or in the real world)...

option one. the bill you move from one week to the next

it is not that you cannot pay it. it is that paying it now makes another week tighter, so it travels.

a bill that travels gets heavier than its actual amount, because you carry it every time you look at the calendar. it may help to ring and ask about splitting it or moving its date permanently. a lot of companies will, and they are used to being asked. a fixed arrangement, even a slightly inconvenient one, costs far less attention than a payment that keeps moving.

option two. the emergency money you feel guilty touching

you built it slowly, and it has become something close to sacred. even when the emergency arrives, part of you resists using it.

that resistance usually comes from a time when there was nothing behind you, and it makes complete sense. still, money set aside for emergencies is doing its job when it gets used for one. a broken boiler counts, and so does a dental bill. if it helps, decide in advance what counts and write it down, so the decision is made by a calmer version of you. then refilling it becomes a plan instead of a failure.

option three. the spending you will not let yourself do

something modest. a coat that fits, a train ticket to see someone, a decent pair of shoes. you look, and then you talk yourself out of it.

this comes up often with women who have been careful for a long time. the habit of saying no can outlast the reason for it. one way to check is to ask whether the no is about this month's numbers or about an old rule. if the numbers allow it, a small planned purchase is a perfectly reasonable use of money you earned. if they do not, put a date on it, so it becomes a when instead of a never.
